How We Started

In the Fall of 2019 our founders were in search of a women's social organization made up of those who could share mutual experiences of studying engineering. They quickly realized there was no student organization that highlighted the importance of academic excellence, career development, and building the foundation of lifelong social connections.

In August 2020 the Club of Aggie Females in Engineering or CAFE was formally recognized as a student organization at Texas A&M University. Each year the organization has prided itself on prioritizing its member's needs and adapting to the challenging course load an engineering student must maintain. CAFE is first and foremost a community for women studying engineering to feel safe and understood. Women of different backgrounds, interests, and beliefs are encouraged to accomplish any and all goals during their time at university and beyond. CAFE prioritizes creating a welcoming environment where women can rely on each other for support throughout their college careers and in all other aspects of life.

Why C.A.F.E.?

I joined CAFE to find a genuine group of girls to support me. I was one of six girls in one of my classes when I ETAM'ed and I hoped to find a good community from CAFE. CAFE has my heart and I'm grateful it connected me with such wonderful women <3.

I love CAFE because of how sweet and inviting everyone is. Not only is it an amazing organization where you have an opportunity to socialize and bond, it's also wonderful for finding people who support you endlessly in your college career. CAFE reminds you that you are not alone and you have a wonderful community of girls who just want to see you win.

Deciding to apply for and join CAFE is a decision I will never regret. Before this org, I was never able to find a true social connection within engineering, especially with other women - but CAFE has allowed me to meet some of my best friends from across all disciplines. Not only do I always have someone to study with, I also found amazing girls who have proven to hold strong friendships. I'm so blessed and thankful to have found CAFE so I can have others laugh, cry, fail, and succeed with throughout my college experience!

CAFE has given me the opportunity to be a part of a family of amazing girls with interests similar to my own. Everyone is so welcoming and kind which creates such a comforting environment in a field that can be otherwise overwhelming. I've made so many memories and friends that I am forever grateful for!!

I chose to join CAFE because I wanted to be a part of a supportive community of women who share my passion for engineering and understand the unique challenges we face in this field. Being part of this club means having a support system that cheers you on and makes engineering a little less intimidating and a lot more fun.

CAFE has been an incredible space for me to connect with other girls in engineering. It has provided guidance in choosing my specific path within the field, and through fun events and service activities, I have gotten the opportunity to build friendships while giving back to the community. It is to me a supportive and empowering environment that has made my college journey much more fulfilling.
